A mission-driven nonprofit was navigating internal transitions and evolving team needs—but lacked structured, up-to-date HR systems that reflected both compliance standards and their equity-driven culture. Their first-time People & Culture leader was doing an incredible job juggling priorities but needed strategic support to assess current gaps, navigate complex employee issues, and rebuild foundational policies. With limited internal capacity and no in-house legal or HR executive, the organization sought expert partnership to ensure their people practices aligned with their values and held up to real-world challenges.

- Policy Development: Updated several core HR policies (including remote work, leave, DEI, and employee conduct) with an emphasis on clarity, legal soundness, and inclusion.
- Employee Relations Guidance: Advised the executive team on sensitive employee relations matters, helping them navigate investigations and risk with care, transparency, and alignment to best practices.
- People Function Coaching: Provided strategic coaching and thought partnership to the People & Culture leader—helping her develop leadership confidence, establish boundaries, and clarify scope as the HR function matured.
- Executive Collaboration: Worked closely with both the CEO and Chief of Staff to align HR strategy with organizational priorities, support leadership decision-making, and prepare for future scaling needs.
